Ok, thank you guys! I'll have them put an open carrier into it and roll with it until I can afford a new dana 60. Thank you all for looking at the pictures

I still say get a second opinion as it may be something we aren't seeing in the pics but from the pics everyone says it's fine so I'd have them just put it together like you said.

Granted I don't have the greatest pictures, I still may have a second opinion. If it is infact not useable, it'd be a nightmare if I put my parts back into a housing that were going to get eaten up. It's not that I don't want to pay for a tow, I have triple A, it's I don't want to bring it to those guys across the street, it's just not going to happen. I'd have to cut my relationship off with the guys who have the truck right now. I mean think about it, you know how rude and bizarre it would be if I just brought my truck across the street? For all I know, they may be the right about the differential, and it's ties I really don't want to break. Anyways, I called my pops and told him the situation. I told him that the guys on the forum felt the housing was still usable, and I asked him if I thought I should get a second opinion from someone else. He says he wants to think on it. If this housing is reusable, then I will defiantly be putting all the parts back in and having it be made an open differential until I can afford a great LSD, and maybe get a Dana 60. BUT, if the differential is in fact bad, then I will defiantly take up slomojo's offer for his 9.25. For $500 that isn't bad. Everyone around here wants $1,000+ LOCALLY, so I'd still be getting a great deal. Slomojo let me know when you have determined if that axle is a safe unit, thank you!

As of now I'm just waiting on my dad to make a decision. I may have it looked at by somebody else first. If it's bad, I'll take slomojos offer. If it isn't bad, I will have the mechanics shop put all my parts back into it, make it an open carrier, and put some thick oil into it. I'll let ya know what my dad says, thanks again everybody.

Idiot, you do realize that this truck had 98,000 miles on it before I bought it right? It has 106,000. Stop acting like I caused all of the damage moron. Everything that I've had to replace on this truck was because of the previous owner. Anthing I have ever done to this truck has been a cupcake to what the dumbass goober who owned it before me (rusted doors, broken hood, dents, no trackbar, bad transmission, torn rear end)....yet you would like to assume that a few burnouts I did caused ALL OF THIS. Stop talking about **** you know nothing about poptart.
lol...

if anyone believes that, I got a bridge id like to sell ya.

I think you're overly concerned about taking it across the street. First off, I doubt they would even notice, but if they did, wo cares. Your the customer. If you want a second opinion, that is your right.

If it were my truck, i'd actually go over there to the 4x4 specialty shop across the street or to another one in town, and ask if one of them would mind coming with you over to your current shop just to take a look at your diff and give their opinion. Offer them a little money for their time, but I bet they wouldn't mind if they think there is an opportunity to maybe get the job. Then, just tell your current shop that you have someone else you want to look at it first. You're the customer, its your right to have a second opinion before you just take their word for it. That's what I would do.

Yes your right, 98,000 of previous abuse, and I caused all of this in the last 7,000 miles, you hit it right on the head. If I remember correctly most guys would agree that dodge transmission and LSDs fall apart around 85,000-100,000 miles....But you are right, it's all my doing.

Please recognize that you have the worst credibility retaining to respect on this forum than anybody else here. Your ignorantly derrogatory, stubborn, egotistical, and a tad bit too cocky for a truck that isn't THAT cool..I rest my case[8D]

To be honest 01DodgeRam360, I kindof agree with Indy's point. I think had you not been so hard on the truck, you probably wouldn't have had as many issues as you are having. I would never take a 98,000 mile truck and thrash it the way you did. Your just asking for trouble. Does that mean that all the damage was caused by you - no. But it certainly didn't help i'm sure. Just my opinion, don't get all upset about it.
