Rear Differential...CASE CLOSED=)
Yeah but it's not free when you have to pay $50 shipping. Thats on the way to a Auburn. I still say I'd go with the open or the Auburn or Detroit. If I was putting a factory LSD in I'd get a new one. They don't last long when new I sure wouldn't pay to have a used one put in. If I could put it in for free it would be one thing but having to pay labor and shipping on that I wouldn't do. Thats just me though. He is super nice for offering it to you. It's up to you what you want to do.
Yeah, I know what you're saying. But I don't have the money right now to save up. I just want to get something in there. Then maybe a year from now, buy the better LSD. But for $50, I can get these beast back on the road which I need desperately.

But hometheater, I cant afford an auburn right now, and i need my truck back asap. But I do plan to put in an auburn down the road, but right now, its free, and i need my truck back as soon as i can ya know?
Apparently I'm not looking in the right place for chunks missing as Archer on PS said he sees where they are missing. He is one of the guys that seems to know what he is doing. Well, actually most of them over there know quite a bit about the mechanical side of the trucks.
alright, this is out of hand.
HTM, go sit in the corner. IT"S FREE. An Auburn would cost him roughly the same in shipping and taxes. Auburn will still cost install too on top of the unit's price.
Neon, listen to Rabbler and get the freaking Trak Lok, you can't afford to put your truck in a ditch next winter. It took 70K for mine to detonate and be swapped for a Trutrac. It's not like it's gonna blow out the rear end the first time it engages. Wear and heat is what causes them to fail, not an occasional romp on the pedal. It'll give you time to wipe a few more grandma rear ends or whatever it is you do to save up for something better.
