Default My Custom Bracket for the Edlebrock Air Hat

I know most of you guys have heard me say how I had a custom heavy duty bracket made to hold my Edlebrock Pro Flo air hat down since the flimsy one that came with it kept bending back up on me not making the air hat stay tight on the TB. Well, I took some pictures while I was messing with the truck today to show you guys. I think it cost me $30 from a local machine shop a few years back.

Here it is installed. Once again don't laugh at my blue wire loom over my red MSD wires. I had some left over from the Honda and didn't want to have to buy more even though I ended up having to get a little more. So I just used what I had in the garage which happend to be blue. It actually to me doesn't look too bad. My black ones I had on the old wires were coming apart as they were on the factory wires then the first set of MSD's I had. Thats a piece of dirt or something on the base of the Air hat. It isn't a set screw like one guy on here did although I think he had a good idea with that if it works.

Here is a picture of my truck I just thought I'd throw in. I took this today even though it's dirty. I must have had the hood opened slightly. I just noticed looking at the picture there is a huge gap there so I'm assuming I had popped the hook open but just not opened it all the way up. It doesn't normally have a gap there. Just thought I'd throw that out so people knew it wasn't in a wreck haha.

the edelbrock product is an air cleaner, not an AIR HAT.

see that device on top of the carburetor on that engine? THAT is an air hat. it measures the velocity of the air moving into the engine.

Most call it a filter kit or fipk

Looks good nstrong HTM and should hold down your fipk better than the one that came with it. Unfortunately its partially blocking the flow into the tb which wont help.(no offense)

That is whats called a stack orvelocity stack on the chev.I ran velocity stacks on each of my carbs on my dragbike. (see K&N filter facts below/they call it a stack)

Belowisa tb hat. Came with my Procharger supercharger kit

Is the one that came with the Edlebrock Pro Flo any narrower? I can't remember as like I've said I've had this one for a few years. I think it was close to the same dimensions so I can't imagine it being much worse. The flimsy bracket that came with it bent so easily it would bend up after drivivg for a few minutes and let it come unsealed from the throttle bidy. I don't hink I could bend this one if I wanted to without a torch or machine. I like it much better than the flimsy one that came with it.

Why are you even on this site since you don't appear to even own a Dodge? Shouldn't you be on a Chevy forum? Or did they all ban you already?

I don't think your hood is popped. Mine looks like the same gap as yours and the pic is a distorted angle. No worries, man! I do love how your tires stick out all mean and grabby. Very cool. 2nd gens just have the best lines ever. Period.

Tee hee blue covering over red wires! someone had to say it!

Nah it looks nice man, not my style but I agree RM_Indy...blocking your tb not helping at all, maybe have someone to custom cut the curves to not cover the tb?

Hometheatherman, thats a Grade 8 hex bolt you have holding your bracket on. You can probably lift your truck up from your air cleaner...hehe

Seriously sweet setup. I plan on doing the same as soon as I find a job. Imports from Taiwan put our Screw and Bolt company out of business.

Maybe it's not. I just saw that gap in the picture and was thinking it was a huge gap. It isn't noticable or I haven't really noticed it in person anyway.
