Goodbye Ugly Tailgate Plastic
Wow...that was intense...like a raging storm, then the calming sunshine afterwards.
You guys just took away about 10 minutes of my life that I'll never get back... But back to the original post about the trim, if anyone who has it wants to freshen it up, invest in Mothers Back to Black. That stuff is great...rub on, let it set, and buff it off. It took my bumper plastic from almost gray to black and shiny again. Here before too long, every inch of black plastic on my truck is going to get it.
About the trucks...I like them all...Chevys, Fords, Dodges, Toyotas, Nissans...all good trucks no matter which one is your favorite. Of course, there are always the lemons... Those new Tundras are sick when it comes to their powertrain... I want to have a 400hp Ram, but let's face it...I could never afford the gas.

I completely know what you mean. I owned a dodge neon prior to my truck. I just wish I had known I was going to drop it, otherwise I wouldn't have dumped all of that money into the car. I put so much money into it, and hardly got anything back from it. I had always wanted a truck though. I love v8s, and the 4 cylinder exhaust just wasn't doing it for me. I'd be fine owning a car, but if I'm going to own a car, it has to be fast. With the neon, the only thing that could possibly be appealing about it would be speed, which it didn't have, so it didn't seem worth it to me to have. I was getting tired of being schooled by minivans, it was a terrible feeling lol. I would hate it when my friends from school would catch me at a light in town. I'd just be like ****, now I'm going to get my *** handed to me by a rusty chevy blazer filled with 4 stoners lmao. I'd always be like hey.....why don't we race from 35mph haha. That car was a 3 speed automatic, you can only imagine how poor acceleration from a dig was, it was embarrassing.
well I'd just like to take a sec here and comment on the tailgate piece. Obviously either way you go... (on or off) its gonna look fine. Personally I like it off, but I considered attaching one to my 01 simply because both of the tailgate straps broke at one point. When the tailgate rests on those black bumper pieces... it leaves marks. So naturally putting that piece on would cover it up. Either way, looks good man.
Now after reading this thread... I ask myself why? lol. I think it was page 3 (somewhere round post 68 or so) where 01 said something about how the truck shines in teh driveway. I have to disagree 110%. Sure if you own a show truck (shoot... ramzilla) then... then that may be true. But to imply that how the truck shines is more important than what the truck was built to achieve, thats where im gonna call your bluff. My truck sure isn't rust free (door lips), and sure as h3ll isnt scratch free. I use my pickup as a pickup which I would bet at least the majority do the same way. I considered having the truck buffed, but.... why?its only gonna get scratched up again. I keep my truck presentable when I can (if this mother f***** pollen would quit fallin) I went out today and cleaned it up again. But even after a wash, claybar, wax, detail stuff....she shines, but no where near a show truck. Let me sum this up. It isn't how your vehicle looks on the outside, if the heart of the truck (engine, trans etc.) can't do anything. My father taught me that with his old montego. Sure she may not look that great on the outside, but with the rebuilt engine and trans... she will take you where ever you wanna go. Moral of the story... looks arn't everything. sheesh... guess you can say that about a lot of things come to think of it.
Now to goldpro. Nice stripes dude. I use an exmark 60" and thought about picking up the stripe kit. Idk whenyou took that picturebut mine's older than that one. The exmark isnt used for comercial purposes so... yea its nota big deal. I still get lines but not as distinct without the stripe kit. Maybe down the road some day... But credit is due, so nice job!

wow that was odd.... thanks for showing me how to take that off... once i get off my lazy butt and get a replacement light for my truck I wanted to color match them and take that stupid thing off. good to know I wont have a ton of repainting to do under there assuming it's as rust free as the rest of the truck
