Im gonna be the odd man out, but I have always liked that trim there, and IMHO I think it looked better before...

your opinion doesn't count until you have a driver's license.

I hate to agree with Jr. Mechanic because I think he is gay, but I liked the trim on too. I like keeping with the original Laramie package that came on the truck.

Jr. Mechanic, if you are not gay I apologize. I see you have taken off the unicorn and rainbow stuff in your signature. You still have that gay dude in your avatar. If you are gay, this is not an insult.

Wow, I was recently thinking of repainting my plastic piece across the back of the tailgate as I thought it was like the old Fords, which used a series of holes to secure a large aluminum trim piece across the back. Since it's just taped in place, I'm going to remove it and chuck it. I like the clean look.

Hey, I like that black plastic trim piece! [sm=smiley2.gif] I've got an '01 SLT 4X4 and mine never came with one. I have a few small dents along the bottom of the tailgate and that plastic would cover it up perfectly! Been checking ebay every once and awhile for one...

What kind of custom tail lights are you talking about? Are you thinking about some without that stupid plastic trim around it? I think it would look a lot cleaner without it.

Jr. Mechanic: Please accept my apologies in that case. I have no idea who Quagmire is, or what show he is on! What are you going to do with us old (44) dudes? Just leave us alone and we will wander off somewhere.

Hmmm I wondered if you could take that off. I need a new tailgate and have seen ones with that cheap. I don't like it and I have plans for a design so that would have to go.

I have to agree with the jr. mech and 1bigramaniac, I like the plastic on there. I feel it finishes off the back. With the plastic off if reminds me of a dare I say alate 90's chevy tailgate.
