Default Run your Ram on water?

I was looking at some websites to see what gas is gonna be doing in the near future and found a site that explained the benifits of running your vehicle on water. They naturally want to sell you a manual on how to build a hydrogen converter for your car. It turns water into hydrogen to burn with regualr gas. It supposidly burns 50/50. I have attached the link to the site. Tell me what you guys think. It makes sense. The only questions I have would be... would there be a loss in power? Would it hurt the motor? How much will I really save? This could save me a lot of money since I drive my truck for work everyday.
Thanks for the responses!

Scam.. making HH20 as they call it is easy, u can do it with some graphite, a solar pannel or battery and means to store the gas compressed. but it'll take about 3 days for you to have enuff og the HH20 (hydrogen oxygen mixture) so that you can drive a coupe of miles. I think the site is a scam, just judging by it's looks alone..

Real alternatives? Popular mechanics had an article this month on a company that will be producing ethenol from trash (carbon based trash, including old tires). also, did you know the US has more coal than the middle east has oil? and did you know u can convert coal into gasoline? Canadians are already doing somethig similar to this, but their using tar sand. America needs to get off it's bought out butts(govt.) and start using the resources we have here.. The only reason were not using coal right now, with the price of oil how it is, is because of lobbyiests (sp) and them having bought out most of the govt. people involved in energy. Coal is a very good temporary solution while we hammer the real Hydrogen car tech out, and be totally indipendant on foreighn oil!!.. if the Germans could do this in the 40's why the heck cant we do in now?!?? bah I rant too much lol.. just venting , gas prices dont have to be this high.. at all!!

This is a bunch of crap that pops up every time gas goes up 10-cents. About every three days, someone posts up the same link and question on the VW forums. Trust me, if there were a water powered vehicle available, Detroit would have it on the market.

+1

This is absolute junk. Fuel magnets and additives are junk, too. Check this out:

1. Hydrogen burns
2. If you can inject it into your engine, it will burn
3. Other things you can inject in your engine include NOS and Propane, whiskey, (anything that burns)
4. The cost of making Hydrogen is more than gas costs. Most home models run off of Natural Gas.
5. To say something burns water is very uniformed-water does not burn.
6. In Utah people are converting cars to run off natural gas which costs 63 cents per gallon. Keep an eye on this and do your research. Cars from all over the nation are being purchased and sent there.
7. Hydrogen will never replace crude. It will not even stand up to electric. Like E-85 it is a diversion that makes us think our polititians are working for us, trying to solve a cyclical economic problem.

You are correct about coal; however, Hydrogen power is a pipe dream. Do some research on The Hindenburg. I don't know about you, but I'll be damned if I'm going to drive a mobile bomb around. Hydrogen power was something dreamt up by Sci-Fi geeks back in the 1980's. It is not as clean as proponant want you to believe, and it will NOT be a viable source for transportation. If it were, then why are modern day blimps using Helium

If I am correct in my thinking, the reason the Hindenburg went up in flames is because they were using Hydrogen as the means of lift since it is lighter than air. One spark and it went up like the opened gates of Hell. The fact that Helium is, for all intents and purposes of this discussion, non-flamable and is still lighter than air, therefore is a much more viable option for lift in a blimp. Hydrogen would be no more dangerous or safer than gasoline. The safer aspect of the Hydrogen bubbler generators is that Hydrogen is separated from the H2O molecule and imediately sent to the intake for combustion. If they tried to store the Hydrogen in a compressed gaseous state, then it becomes more dangerous, but again so is gasoline, or even natural gas for that matter. I really think HHO generators have potential, but as for how much, I can't say. I feel it is a bad idea to convert to one non-renewable source to another. We will only be prolonging the inevitable. The ideas of Hydrogen for fuel, or any other renwable resource is a better idea. Hydrogen by the way is THE most abundant element in the universe. - Food for thought.

Hydrogen is extremely explosive. Remember Fat Man & Little Boy, the bombs dropped on Japan, they were hydrogen bombs. Not sure I would want a compressed tank of hydrogen attached to my truck if in an accidentor to the truck of someone that may decide they like Alah better than the United States!. Just my opinion though. Jeff.

The Hindenburg used the same substance for waterproofing that we use in the solid rocket boosters of the space shuttle. Saint Elmo's Fire ignited the skin. Proof of this was that it stayed level most of the burning until the actual hydrogen bags ignited.

Hydrogen has no distribution system. Period. Gasoline has lines that run from Texas to New York.
