Today on my way to work they was a state trooper parked on the side of the road. I had my windows already rolled down so I didn't have to worry about him seeing my tint. I checked my speed to make sure I was doing the speed limit and let off the throttle so I didn't make any exhaust noise. Went by him and all was well. Then about 1 mile later I was doing 15mph over the speed limit so I could get up a big hill. I looked behind me and there was this blue crown vic roaring up the hill behind me with its blue flashers on. It kind of suprised me because I had past him about 5 minutes earlier. So I pulled off the side of the road, and shut the truck down. When he came up to my window he told me he pulled me over because the truck had some fancy things on it. He said he knew the tail light covers were supposed to be for street shows only, and said it wasn't ok for me to have them on when I'm on his road. He then said he wanted to check the truck over, so he walked around the truck. Then he came back to my window and said ok looks like there is some kind of lift on this truck but it's ok (It's stock but I didn't want to be fresh and correct him). Then he asked if I did the muffler. I said yes. Then he said start the truck up. So I took a deep breath, and started it up. Thankfully it had the limp dickest of all starts and didn't sound very aggressive. He came back up to the window and much to my suprise, told me it was ok lol. He asked me what year the truck was. I said 2001. He then said really? Wow, really nice truck, it's in great shape. So then he walked back to his car to check my information. He quickly came back though and said while he searches my information to take off the tail light covers. Ahhh, made me a little sad. So I peeled the covers off while he looked my information up. I got back inside of the truck and waited patiently for him to come back. He came back and said he was just going to give me a warning because he thought that I was a nice guy. I was very relieved. So I'm sad I have red tail lights again, but I'm thankful the officer gave me a warning and didn't make me roll my windows up or bag me on the exhaust and headers etc. It could have been a lot worse. I have to think of something to do for my tail lights though, the red just isn't doing it for me, and I'm not putting those covers back on. Anyways there is the story, phew! I made it lol.

 

Well that's cool the cop wasn't much of a dick (although he kind of sounds like he didn't know what he was talking about). At least he didn't bust you for speeding.

hey man long time no talk. yeah i got pulled over for my headlight covers. which is rare around here becuase everyone and there brother runs them. anyway he never made me peel em off. i sed they were glued on by the previous owner and im ordering new ones in and he gave me a warning and put me in the system so no one else pulls me over becuse im "replacin" them. i still run em hopefully that guy doesnt pull me o ver again. like you i have limo n loud *** exhaust but i had the windows down and shut the truck off as soon as i saw his lights lol. just one more thing to get hassled about. he never searched the truck tho which was weird., cuz its a little bit high now. i had empties all over the place and i think a bit of the wacky tobacy (sp) and after all that he couldnt remeber if he had given me my information back i laughed and said yeah u did. he was like oh ok good lol.

what bugs me more is that theres cars that run 8.0 and 9.0's on the street every sunday and they dont say **** all to them. my truck couldnt speed if it wanted to and they gotta call me out on headlight covers like wtf. buddy over there has no cats . smells so rich it could make u cry and his tires are about 3 feet wide.blower stickin2 feet outa the hoodand they wanna pull us over.... just blows me away.

Man that sucks. Atleast he didn't make you roll the windows up or anything else. Sucks when this kind of stuff happens. How does the truck look without the tail light covers? I want to see some pictures. It just looked soo amazing before but I bet it still really looks good.

As for all those cars that never get pulled over I don't think thats true. You talk to the Honda guys and they all complain about how the trucks never get pulled over or hassled for this stuff. You talk to the truck guys they complain that they get pulled over all the time and the muscle cars dont. I think trucks and muscle cars imo do get hassled less than Hondas and stuff of that nature but it seems like whoever you talk to says that some other type gets hassled less than them. Remember just because you don't see them pulled over doesn't mean it doesn't happen. They could have been pulled over right after you turn off or right before you got to them and you'd never know. I think to some extent all modified vehicles get hassled. If you don't want to take that risk leave the vehicle stock imo.

You do realize, depending on the traffic around you, that he can radar your speed that far away, right?

But glad that you got out of it with a slap on the wrist. A lot of cops can be dicks, but that one wasn't.

Next time you get pulled over, and the officer asks you "Sir, do you know what I pulled you over for?" or "Sir, do you know why I pulled you over?"

Say "Because you think I have donuts in here?"

 

Yeah people get pulled over. I had always complained that I never saw a Taxi pulled over, and they speed all the time.

But alas, on my way to work at Disney, I saw it. A taxi got pulled over.

After that, I threw all the "it's unfair" crap out of the window, lol.

EDIT: Ummm. Maybe I should mention I've never been pulled over. And I've hit the 100 mph mark on some major roads, even went 75 by a cop. Dumb luck maybe. But I'm a pretty good guy, never once been excessively mean or sarcastic with a cop, so I figure what goes around comes around.

 

ohhh gotcha now. yeah about the smellin of reef . thats why i stopped anyone smokin it in the truck. i dont want it to be smellin all the time blahh.
