Sorry. I'm not trying to be a dickhole or anything, but the owner of new england transmission is not going to beat you up neon. He's just pissed off because you keep coming back, and he talks you into saying it's fine. Then you call back, and he does it again, then you call back. Quit that ****. Don't pick the truck up until it's fixed. Four thousand dollars for a vehicle that's worth five thousand dollars is worth all the bitching rights in the world man.

I think I would do the same thing. I wouldn't pick it up until it was right and had a build sheet with it. I think they are just trying to put it off and keep doing it hoping you will quit coming back and then the warranty will run out. How much is small claims court up to? If they don't start fixing it that might be an option. Not sure how it would pan out in court. I do agree though you paid a lot for this and you need to make them fix it not let them talk you into thinking it's okay. Go in there and stand firm. I think you had a good idea with the writing a list of stuff to talk to them about. Maybe try that. This will hopefully stop you from forgetting what you want to say when you get there. I've had to do this before.

Well in California we have the Bureau Of Automotive repair. Im sure they you have a similar state Dept. They Investigate shop fraud and such. One of my instructors at school works for them and hes got all kind of horror stories. I would also look into this as an option if you really had to. Or you can break some knee caps too....

IIRC , I suggested adjusting the TV cable back in the other thread. But I got beat up on that suggestion. It takes 5 minutes to do it and may just fix the prob.

BTW! I would agree with everyone about how to handle this guy, I would have drove the truck through the place if he acted like that too me.

Remember the local media suggestion...
It won't cost a thing, but should have some real impact on how things turn out. That would be the step just before going to court. Make sure you are very "factual" in everything you say has happened, including how you "feel" you have been treated. Witnesses to verify the way he treats you would be a definite plus on your side if things go that far.

I agree with keeping on them and not accepting it until it's right. Let Mark get mad. Just keep your cool and be firm. I fully understand the intimidation factor, and so does Mark! That's why he treats you the way he does. He counts on you backing down. He no doubt even thinks you will go any further with this situation, so as long as he can keep putting you off until the legally binding warranty expires, he won't have to do anything else but wait until he's legally off the hook. Keep on him and don't let him win. You can do it! When this is all over and you look back on it, you will be proud of yourself for not giving in to this "bully". Hang in there! I'm rootin' for ya!

I don't think the tv cable is it but it might might cure part of the problem. It can't be causing the clunk into overdrive or that stuff as the computer controls the 3rd to overdrive shift not the tv cable.

Thanks Ron, you are right on the money. And Cereal I don't take offense, I know where you are coming from. It's not so much that he personally intimidates me, but it's the stress of going through the motions with that guy that makes me uptight. He's just a brick wall. He doesn't listen to what I'm saying, he just tries to outsmart me which is easy because I don't know much about transmissions. This time when I go to test drive the truck, and if it still skips into overdrive and has the sensitive pedal, I'm not backing down and saying it's good. I'm bringing it back and politely saying it's not right.

reading all this makes me feel kinda bad for runnin into the trans shops bucket of sand, lol. they had it outside and it was too low to see from where i had my truck, paid the man, shook his hand and left. boomp. I ran over their bucket. i didn't think anything of it, but they treated me well, cut me a deal on the overhaul, and the trans works fine.

he did take about 5 days to do it, which didn't bug me as much just wasn't done on the day previously set. I just called daily to check on the status.

if anything, your giving the maine dodge truck drivers a heads up to avoid paying 4 grand to new england trans. and that may be a start of something bigger.
