I had a True-Trac put in the 9.25 rear of my 96 1500. It replaced the open carrier. I kept the 3.55 gears with the 265 tires. When I bought the True-Trac, I also bought a master installer kit. SinceI didn't change the gear ratio, they didn't use all of the master installer kit. I've been happy with it. When they finished I think I got back the old open carrier, cross pin, and spider gears. Don't know if this is helpful or not.

Was there any resolution to this thread? I am having the same problem. It seams my DTT did not come with a cross pin either. Without the cross pin, the axle is free to move about an inch which allowed the C clip to fall off within 10 minutes of running (thank goodness it was only on jacks and not on the road).

Did you talk to the folks that you bought it from? Seems to me, that is a rather critical piece of the installation.......

I purchased it from 4wheelparts.com. We have a local store in the Kansas City area which I went to yesterday, but the technician who has experience with the 9.25 differential is out till after the 4th. Eaton is of course closed on the weekends and they will probably be closed tomorrow and Tuesday for the holiday, so I am stuck waiting till at least Thursday....Ugh...
