Default Detroit True Trac

Well guys I have decided to go with the Detroit True Trac for the rear of my 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9l with the chrysler 9.25. The reason is because the LSD is in pieces but everything is of except I need a new ABS ring, But just want to get yalls advace and install opinions before this weekend, when all the parts will be here. I will just be swaping the carrier and ring gear and abs gear. Just want to get some advice Thanks guys.

This to me seems to be the way to go. The factory unit is junk. I put a Auburn in mine as at the time it seemed to be slightly better for what I wanted and recommended however since I got mine there seems to have been a few people with failures. I still say the Detroit or Auburn is the way to go but I may tend to lean slightly towards the Detroit due to Silvers failures with his Auburn.

The detroit is not rated for anything over 32" tires. The Auburn is rated for up to 35". Found out today that there may be nothing wrong with my Auburn. Took the cover off, and everything looked prestine. Absolutly nothing wrong with the AUburn. I'm thinking transfer case now.

Oh I didn't know that about the Detroit and the tires. Where did you read that? I called around and did some reading when I got my Auburn and it seemed like some recommended the Auburn and some the Detroit. I saw a few cases of both being blown up but not a whole lot. Not like the stock unit.

BTW whats wrong with your truck that you thought was the Auburn anyway?

can somebody post some pics of the detroit true trac installed or being installed, I was looking at the carrier today and.. how does a crosspin and the c clips work, there no way for a cross pin to go through it? Just to confirm the true trac only come with the carrier itself?? right? no little extras?
