Default POP

Does or has anyone had, a single popping sound that they could also feel in thier steering column when stepping on the brake? This does not occur when they are released. I assumed it was a loose steering column but everything is tight. Nothing obvious anywhere else.

The only problem here is that my steering has no play. It also does not a clunck, rattle, or any type if shimmie. One single pop which will resonate through the steering column. This ONLY happens when you step on the brake. Stumped.

I have the pop through the column too. Sometimes when I hit the brakes, when turning, over bumps, off-road... whenever it feels like it. It feels like its only in the column.

I was going to try a new steering shaft til I found that part. I keep meaning to order it but have not gotten around to it. Need to do my evap first...

I will report back after i install it.

Only pops during braking foward or in reverse? Do you have a lift? Not saying this is your particular problem but my Skyjacker upper and lower arms with their super soft poly bushings wear out after 25k miles. When they wear, you'll hear and feel a pop as they move. Yours sounds different but, having a lift or in a particular motion might help narrow it down.
