You believe only what you wish to believe, whether it's good advice or not. Go back to the posts when you asked about this "problem" in the first place. What did I tell you then? Read posts from HankL about exhaust pipe length, what does he suggest? What has everyone else told you? Who did you listen to?
THANK YOU!!!! Your done neon. Youve pissed off so many people cause your the typical 19 year old kid. Dont listen to a god damn thing.

dude u dont listen to anyone. We told you not to buy the K&N FIPK and you did it anyway. Then complained about it not being good enough. Then bought the mopar air cleaner, and complained about that and said the FIPK was goin back on. All you have done on this forum is bitch and complain. Your truck is a joke. And i NEVER say that about someone in the family. You do no work your self, and all you do is bitch. Just sell that bitch and get your neon back, it fit you better.

I've got the same muffler, same headers, but I have a hi flow cat installed and I don't experience the drone. Its not nearly as loud as the 5x8x14 maganflow I had on and I don't get the mad props from motorheads anymore, but I like that I can drive with the windows down and talk to the person next to me.

Just curious but how old are you? I'm guess not much older as I don't know anyone over 19 that would want to drive something that looks like your truck with the bedliner all over it. It will probably look way worse in a few years being as you used herculiner which everyone says fades and cracks and peels.

Sure he may not know the most and sometimes gets stuff that he see's he wants instead of what's recommended on here but honestly who doesn't do that? Who was born knowing everything they know about trucks. I can promise everyone on this forum that none of them were born knowing everything about vehicles. They all had to start somewhere as much as they may hate to admit it. That's what he is trying to do and from the start you guys have given him a hard time.

BTW who on here hasn't taken one of their vehicles to a shop? You all complain about that but I'm guess most of you probably have taken a vehicle to a shop to get worked on in the past when you didn't know how to do something.

So none of you guys have gotten something other than what was recommended you get in the past? I know I have. Had I listened I probably wouldn't have an american brand of truck and probably would have taken a better look at a Toyota. Might have been a better thing to do but I didn't do it.

There are not many ways to go if you want to "have your cake and eat it too".
Great, aggessive, throaty sound outside is very difficult to achieve without having at least some drone inside.
I've done the exhaust myself on every car/truck/suv I've owned, mainly because I've been welding since I was 13 when I was "forced labor" in my father's awning & canopy shop.
I find it hard to believe that a shop can't find room for a resonator over the entire length of a full size pickup. I have LT headers, two cats, a "y" pipe, Flowmaster 50HD and 18" tips and could still cut & weld in a resonator if I wanted to, without even re-routing anything!
Get your a$$ under your truck and look for yourself. Maybe it'll take a bit of re-routing, but there is no way you're gonna make me believe there is no room for it.
A good combination for very little cab drone yet pretty aggressive outside sound would be an Aero ar30 or ar25 (depending on whether you need a 3" or 2.5") with their Turbine muffler. These resonators have just a 10" body length (14" with I/O tubes), so again, I can't believe there is no room to fit them.

I hear what your saying hometheaterman, its just that its frustrating to listen to someone complain about the same problem over and over again in new posts. Then we try to give him some good advice and 9 times out of 10 he just does what he originally planned on doing and it doesn't work out. I'm sure he's not a bad kid but it does get a tad tiring. I've just kinda learned to keep repeating myself, like I did in my previous post, and hope it sinks in. And no; I don't think I'm always right, And yes; I take my truck to the shop sometimes :-)

01DodgeRam360--LOL, man have I been where you are now. I think you are caught up in what I call "vendor hype" instead of actually learning how your vehicle functions and making informed decisions on how you want your truck to perform. My best advice to you is start reading. Learn how the various systems on your truck work together. At the same time, get some mechanical skills so you are not dependent on these shops who are more than happy to take your money. Most importantly, start heeding the advice of the experienced hands on this forum. In the short time I've been a member of this forum, I've learned more than money can buy. All for free! Posters like Silver, Squirrels, and others on this forum know what they are talking about. Listen to them and heed their advice, because they've been there and done it. Lastly, don't expect your modded truck to behave like a Lexus. If you want quiet, go back to a stock exhaust. I truly wish you luck in your endeavors. Be patient, and learn as much as you can before you act on impulse.

Some of you guys on this forum just have chips on your shoulders. Frankly, many of the "higher ranked" participants on this forum act like complete little boys. I come onto this forum to chat trucks, brainstorm ideas, and troubleshoot problems. Most of the time there are a few select people that will actually help me, and then there are the infantile cliche dodge ram goobers who come raging into the post and spew this long ended rant about how much I change my mind and how I never work on my truck. You've got to be kidding me. I'm the family joke how I'm always in my garage getting greasy working on my truck. You guys do not know anything about me. This forum, at most, is bare essential entity of who I am. Do not attempt to consolidate me as a person AGAIN. I find it funny how people like to use my age against me, when really, I'm one of the more mature participants on this damn forum. Yes, I know I change my mind, but that's because I'm always thinking of new and improved ways to make me happy...get over it. I make a post about a drone, and for whatever reason, some of you guys throw hissy fits. I don't need it. While others actually give me solid tips, others use my posts as platforms to vent (god knows what's up your ***). At the end of the day, it's a matter of you being an ******* or someone nice. I take people like Ron and Will. Both of those guys are always extremely nice to me, and give me positive in depth feedback. Most of the other guys here are your typical hill billy ******* who just like to bully on the young guy. I know I own a beautiful truck, and I've spent the last year of owning it getting it back to off the lot looks. Then again, I suppose I should have been expected to replace my own transmission too...right? Get over yourselves people, and please grow up, it's comical the way you guys put your panties in a bunch over trucks, it's sad. Some of you must be great husbands..

I'm not an active participant in your threads typically but i'm going to jump in because I'm especially bored today. These guys are just saying what i would think the majority of people think when they read some of your lengthy posts. I don't think they were necessarilly knocking you or your truck in general. They just feel a little annoyed when you ask for advice then do whatever you wanted to in the first place. Why bother asking for advice at that point? Additionally, they weren't saying your truck was junk, just stating that it really isn't that much more than a stock truck with some light mods. Whether or not you mean to, your last couple posts come off pretty arrogant and I think that's where a good chunk of the flak you're catching comes from. I'm sure your truck is a nice truck, but you are not a master mechanic (as the vast majority here are not), nor is your truck the best thing in the world. You need to chill out a little and realize its just a truck and spending this much time/money on it is about the worst financial investment you can make.

Regarding the issues you're having with exhaust drone, My recommendation would be to either stick with the magnaflow muffler or go to a 50 or 70 series flowmaster. Go get a replacement OE style cat or a Magnaflow (or similar). If it still drones too much for you, then maybe its time for some stock manifolds.

Sometimes, modding a truck is a balancing act between performance, comfort, and expense. You're not going to be able to mod your exhaust for increased flow and expect it to not make more noise / drone at cruising speed. That's just the nature of the beast. If it were possible to (economically) have it both ways it would come that way from the factory.
