Volant is in the house=)
I think the problem with the Ballasts going bad is from buying cheapo eBay kits.
Check out Xenondepot.com if you want a PNP kit. They are expensive but I've always heard good things about them. A lot of guys that do retrofits use Phillips ballasts which is the way to if you want quality. Some guys have okay luck with the ballasts in the cheap kits others have horrible luck. The quality seems to be a hit or miss.

Thanks HTM. I am going to return my kit since its under warranty, and get new ballasts that work this time hopefully. If something screwy happens, next time I try it will be with reputable ballasts.
Velocity LEDs is a good company. I did many-a-business transactions with them for my old Dakota, and am thinking about a few for my Ram. Trying to make it look nice without crossing the line over to "ricer-ish".
Last time I read up on the subject, if they don't come on the car stock, they are illegal. Period.
However, the cop has to check first, and I don't think most would care unless they were as bad as high beams.
Incorrect. Stock HIDs will be in a projector housing. They may obviously be slightly brighter, but they will not be blinding. I saw several tonight on a BMWs on my way home from a trip to Best Buy, and they weren't blinding at all. Brighter than halogens, yes, but also more focused, so not bad at all. Now, any aftermarket HID kit in halogen housing will be blinding. For the few split seconds I have managed to get my HIDs to work before they went to "strobing", they were brighter than my very bright EuroDezigns halogen bulbs. I thought that my different housings would help, but they didn't. Thats why they are sitting on a shelf right now, waiting for me to send them back, rather than me rushing to get them sent back because I have to have them.
Not telling you what to do dude, you do what you want, but they are to bright, and they are not legal. I see some of these riced up older Hondas and Mitsubishis with the stupid HID kits in them all the time, utterly blinding people, and they make me want to sideswipe them off the road as they drive by.
They are street legal.

My brother runs HIDs in his halogen housing on his one ton, and they don't appear to be overbearing, they are just as overbearing as any other HIDs I see on the roads. Besides, many of the HIDs that come stock with vehicles are blinding at night regardless. A bright halogen can be just as blinding as an HID anyways, so I'm not to worried about it. I think it's going to look very nice with HIDs in the headlights and foglights, give the truck that custom touch.

I agree blinding people is a good way to get hit. Not on purpose either. I've had some vehicles blind me to the point of where I couldn't see where I was going and could just pray that I wasn't going to hit them because I could see them or anything else at all. Not to mention they are for sure illegal so you also risk getting a ticket in addition to blinding others. Not that the legality side of it matters a ton as you already have other illegal things on there but they are illegal just fyi. You could get some Cuzo bulbs or something that look cool and while still may not be legal don't blind everyone like those HID's are going to. There are also Farenheit bulbs which I like a lot but not quite as much color as Cuzo's and then the Euro Dezigns or however it's spelled that Jason.w has posted about. I've also had a buddy that used to run the yellow ones in his truck then car and loved them. So maybe even check those out. All of those options will be a ton cheaper and a lot less blinding.
http://www.eurodezigns.com/ for info on their bulbs and their HID kits.
The best place to get their bulbs though is on eBay.

I'm hoping they won't look ricey. It's why I went with a 6K. Prodominantly white with a hint of blue. I'm going to have them aimed down to face the road more and hopefully this will eliminate any blinding one could experience. I'm going to run them and see how they look. If there no good or look dumb, I'll send them back for sure. Worth a shot for sure though.
Thought I'd show you how my truck looks with the Cuzo's. They are a little bluer than appear in pics but mostly white with blue not just a really pure blue like some.
It's Cuzo headlight bulbs and stock foglight bulbs with APC super white corner bulbs. I've now changed the corner bulbs to Silverstar ones which look blueish when off but light up amber.
I don't have any good night shots as it's hard to get them to turn out well.
