You could tell them to keep the $250 and install a trans-go shift kit...might help.

Thanks for the comment Purpl.

I'm not really sure on its newness, but I know it isn't brand spaking new. We've asked them for a build sheet this time around so I will be getting that tomorrow before I leave. As you guys said, I will be making a prayer and saying Merry Christmas 2008.

Today I received a phone call from N.E Transmission. They told me the truck was done, and I could come pick it up. When I got there, it was quite and awkward as suspected. The manager sat there quietly writing me out a check for the difference of the two transmissions. He then stapled the check to the buildsheet, and gave me the keys.

I've driven the truck on the highway and around town, and it's shifting the way I had expected it to last March. I'm just going to be taking it easy from now. I have 2 years and 60,000 miles left on my warranty, so that will give me enough time to find out if this transmission has any issues. So things seems to be ok for now, let's just hope it stays this way.

In regards to servicing this transmission, and covering my bases with N.E, how often should I bring the truck in to have transmission flushes/servicing?

Are you required to bring it in every so often for service to keep up your end of the warranty? Whatever you do, make sure they put in ATF+4 when they service it, otherwise you might be paying for it again later on after the warranty expires.

Glad it is working out finally. I hope it continues to do so. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you get in the check? What upgrades do you plan to buy with it?

They gave me $250 back. I wish I could put it towards the truck, but I'm just putting it towards the transmission loan. I almost have it paid off at this point.

The warranty doesn't say anything about servicing it at any particular intervals, but I just want to make sure I really take care of this transmission. I have the advantage of starting fresh with a new transmission, so I'd like to do whatever I can to treat this unit with the best care. Does getting a flush say every 15,000-20,000 miles sound like a good idea?

I don't think you'd need a flush that often. A filter and fluid change in the pan, sure, but a complete flush, no.
