Default Reciever hitch for rollpan

so im asking for some help here. ive got a 2000 ram 1500 4wd. i recently installed a rollpan under the impression that a regular class 3 reciever hitch would bolt up. boy was i wrong hehe. ive also tried a hitch for a custom drop bumper but still not even close. i have looked everywhere for a hidden hitch but cant seem to find anything. am i just looking in the wrong places? if anybody knows anything about this, please let me know.
i can also be reached at dungholio@yahoo.com thanks!!!

i dont think there is a hitch out there that you cant see. a hitch is a bage of honor. it should be seen

yes i know what you are talking about with the hidden hitch, that goes behind the plate, but i cant seem to find any for this truck anywhere. i would prefer to be able to see the hitch rathar than go thru the license plate, ether would work for me at this point, just need to find something that will bolt on thanks

I install hitches everyday and I've never had a problem installing a hitch on a truck that has a roll-pan bumper. What was the problem w/ that? and I don't know much about roll-pans but don't all have a hole behind the plate for this very reason?

I hate the look of my hitch. I take it off when I don't need it.

The problem with the hidden hitches behind the license plate is the law will bust you when you tow because the tag won't be as easily seen. You have a few options, ditch the hitch and tow with another vehicle, have a custom hitch made or modify the stock so the receiver hangs below the roll pan or find the factory roll pan offered from 98-01 sports that work wit hthe factory hitch. I was in the same boat as you until I bought a 3/4 ton for my donor v10 drivetrain. so I'm just going to swap the 5.2 engine and trans into that and use that to tow with. good luck

Default hey thanks guys

so i ended up having a custom hitch built. apperently no hitch made will fit my year of dodge (non sport) with a roll pan. the guy that built it made it out of 2 different hitches, with the Hidden Hitch brand, not actuall hidden hitch behind the plate, but Hidden Hitch brand of hitches. it turned out really nice, and i think-actually makes the rear look even better. he charged me $300 to have it done, but when i walked in with cash, he made me a deal at $250 out the door installed. the shop that did the work is a hidden hitch dealer/ weld shop located here in spokane, wa. the work they do there is amazing!!! i would recomend them to anybody. place called Macklin welding, so anyways thanks guys
