if a bender splits the SS it's because is one of those "kink" type benders, you don't want that crap.

just order a whole new catback for what you want. Magnaflow, Gibson, and Dynomax are a few.

stainless sources

http://www.spdexhaust.com/

http://www.weldtechstainless.com/

nearly any USA city over 300,000 population will have a steel supply warehouse in the telephone listings that can buy all manner of stainless steel tubing,
and small mail orders can be handled by the companies that advertise in magazines like 'Home Shop Machinist'

Many thanks to all who replied. I considered them all, and decided to go with the $250 offer down the street. I talked with him again this morning and decided to keep the y-piping and tail pipe since it was already 3". He said he would refigure and drop the price. The intermediate pipe will be the only aluminized tubing. I guess laziness, expediency, and cost won the day this time. "Git her done!" technology.

$250 gets me the above with aluminized tubing, not stainless. He claims he can't get stainless tubing in the aftermarket. He also recommends I buy two new O2s because I'm changing the exhaust flow.

I think I need to shop around some more. what do you gents think?
Well, his claim about the stainless is flat out wrong. I just think he doesn't want to try. My Meineke shop offers aluminum or stainless steel... a cat-back for $250-ish with Magnaflow muffler, stainless would have ran me $450 I believe is what was quoted.

Hey, the dude abides! I will get the video cam out once I get the headers installed. The exhaust system should be on by noon, CST.
