Sounds like a good price for 50% tread. Hope you get a decent amount of life out of them, until you can afford new ones. I know I'm hoping mine last a good long while, tires are expensive.

Gald you found a set, I used to drive Truck for years and wish I had a dollar for every recap I lost with 60%+ tread left. I always kept up with the air preasures, they are only as good as the casing, the bonding agent, and the person doing them,The heat generated in a radial tire is alot and then put a load on it and run down a highway that is 130 degrees. Its not worth it to me, maybee off-road only. Stroken

That's a good idea too. Just make sure not to buy a bunch of other stuff before the tires are paid off!

I am sorry to hear so many people are discounting this so quick. I have owned 2 sets of tires from them both bought over 3 years ago when they were known as Hi-Tec Retread. They have proven to be excellent tires. I have one set on my Scout and one set on my '68 half ton pickup and they are wearing just as good as any of the import china tires I have ever seen. These are not the retreads of old (the '70s) and completely different vulcanization process. Only one out of the 8 I have needed more then 1 or 2 small weights when balanced and that is on the D-mud set on my Scout. The AT set balances out nicely. The only problems I am seeing is after 4 years on the Scout, the casings (sidewalls) which are Goodyear are beginning to to show some weather checking. When I replace these tires with some larger ones they will also be from Tread-Wright.
