Tuneability is the key for any type of CB antenna. Wilson makes a "whip" style similar to Firestik. While both are tuneable, the Wilson will handle more power. You can also get versions of the 1000, 2000, and 5000 in trucker type stud mounts. Now mind you a higher watt ratting on the antena won't get your signal out further, i does help on recieve end, as long as its tuned properly. I would assume most of us are running stock or slightly tweaked radios, unless you are running or plan on running a linear amp, a super high rated antenna would be overkill.

BTW, Barjans TMK, are not tuneable.

Ok your wrong about wilson whip version. There whip it's really flexy but it can't hold the power like the firestik can. Personal if I had to do it all over agin I would get a wilson 5000 and use that. There base load which works better than the firestik's. Which every u chose Get tunable tips!! Now if its a wilson 1000 2000 and some on they are only base adjustable. I have never messed with them before.

what I did was put the antenna on top of my truck and hooked it to the CB I wired the CB up to a batt I have laying around I can hold the cb up to my ear and barely hear some fuzz when I mess with the squelch I even hooked it to a ext speaker and could barely hear it but The pa works just fine so what do you guys thank should the noise be louder than that and the vol was up all the way
Also I want to use this http://www.walcottcb.com/36077-amfm-...ter-p-680.html do you thank it will work

Dude I think your better running its own antenna rather than trying to split them like that.

While splitting it will work. Do not expect to talk very far. Personally I would only use that if your intention was just for something to use on the trail with others close to you. That way you don't have to worry about the tree branches above you. Remember its not the radio but the antenna that makes the radio.

you are correct, they are not, but thats what my local truck stop has, and my dads setup shows nearly a 1:1 swr (on the swr meter built into his radio, mine don't have this feature, but still i can pick up and recieve very well, even with the duals)
