thats how i did mine, granted i have an auto, but i prefer to have it overhead, and out of my way.

BTW, i bought that piece of aluminum 6"x18" at home depot. i think it was around 8 bucks. then bent it using my tailgate.

im getting a new radio this weekend, im doing a lot of traveling to and from the college, and want something with weather bands, also will be handy on the farm
the radio i have now, im gonna put in the tractor, we will also be putting one in the combine, so handy for unloading on the go

 

I shopped around and it had a mail in rebate it set me back 130 shipped.
