Cyl 2 & 4 misfire
I followed this tread and i think you're in the right direction. You said that when you changed your cap and rotor that it ran fine for a moment?
Post your results of a compression test, that will give clarity on this subject.
Also, when you change your cap and rotor, change the spark plug & wires as well, costs not that much but then you know that you are safe on that matter (you have to do this anyway at some point in the life of the truck).
Hope this helps!

Purple, the best thing you can do right now is cut to the chase and run a full compression test. If you're getting consistent misfire codes on #2 & #4 after messing around with the wires, cap, etc., then there's something going on inside those cylinders.
Make sure you pull all of your plugs and set your TB to WOT for the test. I realized I had a bad #8 when I compared it to the others -- #8 was 140 and all the others were 175 to 180. I knew then that I had a problem, and running a leakdown test confirmed it.
Good luck and let us know what your results are.
