you can run 87 octane on just the crank mod, it ain't that much of an advance. only reason it was widely used was to compensate for the timing retard the dealership deathflashed the trucks with. A cheap "fix" for stock engines and folks that didn't want to invest in a tuner.

i would say get good gas and the 180* stat and see if that works. if not then get colder plugs. unless you need a tune up anyway. no sense in wasting money if you donnt need to.

i am using autolite 3923's. no problems. but some no likey.

yeah i just got a tune up a lilttle ago so i should be fine. Ill just do as you say and go with better 93 ( and a full tank of it) and put in the 180

Well i just got my 180 stat in the mail today. Ill be putting it in tom if the weather permits.
