Default 22 dollar muffler

So my muffler on my 97 Ram had some holes in it. I went to Advance Auto and bought a 22 dollar Thrush Turbo muffler, 6 inch extension, and 3 U clamps for a grand total of 35 bucks.

I cut the old muffler out and bolted on the new one. After about 2 days it actually sounds good.

Anyone shorten the tailpipe and run the exhaust in front of the rear tire?

Thanks

I just let the muffler sit there. I saw a Indy Ram at the Nats that did that. It looked pretty damn good.

I have a single 28" (I think) Thrush glasspack with about 2 feet of pipe after...it exits right after my step bar...I like it.

They make some like that...in the 50 series SUV mufflers...but they aren't as aggressive-sounding as the other 10 thru 40 series are...

It is about the size of a 55 gallon drum.

Over the stock muffler? Yes, they will. Almost any Performance Muffler will have an increase in HP. The number is probably small, especially with a stock system, but the sound is way better.
