Just saying that 7 qts will be plenty to buy to know he'll have enough...not to definitely put 7 qts back in...

I was gonna ask this question withen the next month or 2. I used the mopar stuff when topping mine off. Stupid tranny pan gasket has been chaged twice on my truck and it still leaks. I'm gonna drop the pan and drain it and add a trans temp gauge while I'm modding the sucker. Maybe changing the gasket myself it won't leak lol

 

I found it very interesting when I read the ATF info from that link that was posted... To know that when you buy any licensed ATF +4, you are buying the same blend is good information. Next time I do mine I WILL NOT be dishing out the $6/qt for Mopar ATF +4 when I can pick up the Super Tech right beside it and save 3 or 4 bucks a qt. I had that same issue, then I looked at the torque specs and saw it was only 13 ft/lbs for the tranny pan bolts...backed 'em off and haven't had any leaking since then.

 

Ok, another Q? What should I use in the transfer case? The factory manual says ATF+4, and my Haynes manual says 75W-140 or something like that. What should I use In that?

This is so that if the seal between the x-fer case and the tranny starts to leak, you don't get gear oil in your tranny.

 

Ram2K1 and BlueBeast2 what kind of tranny oil pan gasket do yall have. I have replaced mine 3 times with the dealer plastic one with the rubber lines through it and the thing still wont stop leaking and thats torquing it to everything listed on this forum. Are yall using Cork or full rubber gasket?

 

I have no idea what's on mine. I just know it was changed (and flushed)at the used car lot where I bought it. Then when the tcc thing needed fixed it was changed again at a dodge dealer. You would think they would know what their doing.

After seeing all the horror stories about flushing the trans. I wonder if that's what caused my problems

 

Yea I dont know, I just need to get mine to stop leaking, and know what gasket I should use: the cork, full rubber, or the dealer plastic with rubber (which hasnt worked 3 times).
