I just did mine, the ball joints werent as tough to press out as reported on here. I think its a truck by truck thing. I actually had more trouble replacing the front shock on 1 side.

Get the 23 peice kit that is specified in one of the write ups. Search Hankls posts, he has one that explains the press kit situation.,

Did you have a ball joint press? The setup I rented had one cup with a taper on it just for that problem. Made it fairly easy. I nearly taped one entirely in place with some weak blows with a flat hammer... that one really made me smile

I rented a ball joint press from AutoZone and all it had were flat cups. If it would have had a taper on it I would have probably had very little problems. I'll have to keep that in mind if I have to do them again someday.

I rented a press, and the cups were either too tall or too short. I had to have my neighbor, who pretty much has his own machine shop, make a cup so I could press the lowers out.

if you are going to rent a press get the one from advance.... autozone doesn't have the right cups for 2wd
