Thanks i will do some more research and see what i can figure out. The truck runs like a champ otherwise and the tranny doesn't slip at all that's why i figured there has to be a sensor or a soleniod that is starting to fail. Did you have problems with yours when cruise control was engaged?

It stays engaged. it just revs up briefly and then continues at normal cruising rpm. it only does it in overdrive at highway speeds. it will do it occasionally without cruise control engaged too, i just notice it more when cruise control is engaged.

yeah i think its your truck. i've got a 3/4 ton with the 5.9 V8 and it doesn't kick in/out of overdrive like yours does. on hills doing 60, it'll drop down to 55 and stay there with my foot in the same position as it was at 60 and it still doesn't kickdown a gear. so i don't know, maybe check things out on your truck

If I'm understanding his problem correctly - it isn't kicking out of overdrive; it's just revving up when he hits bumps. I had this problem for a few months. Going over back roads where it's bumpy was a joke, every time I'd go over bumpy parts of the road, the rpms would be revving up and down up and down. These symptoms went away after the transmission shop replaced the TPS, and all of the other surrounding sensors in the transmission.
