Default How difficult is it to replace the hood?

My hood came up on me while driving a year or so ago, it bent the hinges and hood pretty bad. Now that I'm starting to fix up the Ram, I want to fix this - it functions fine, I bondoed the dents, but its far from perfect.

So how difficult is it to swap hoods - hinges and all? Does that loaded spring cause any problems? I have to decide whether to live with it or not.

I would'nt remove the hood and hinges as one assembly. It is heavy. What I would is remove the grille, then hood then the hinges. It takes 2 or 3 guys to take off the hood.

I'm in the hood(not really), so I know what I'm tallking about!

^ yeah.
for the hoods i've removed - open the hood and unbolt it from the hinge. then unbolt the hinge from the body (hinge is open).

three people would be a smooth operation one guy to hold either side and the third (perferably smallest buddy) to unbolt the hood

i pulled the hood wiht just one buddy as well, as long as you put alittle man into your work, just make sure the hinges stay up, dont try to put them down, they will hurt you.
