if you have 3.55s now you have to either get a 3.91 and up carrier, or get a "thick" 4.10 ring gear for the 3.55 carrier. That one you specified specifically said NOT for the 3.73 and down carrier

you also need a master install kit for each axle. You can get away with a basic install kit, but it's better to have all the parts on hand if something's damaged.

I see people talk about these "thick" gears, but I have yet to find out what they are talking about.

because the different gear ratios use a different amount of teeth on the ring gear and pinion gear, the sizes of each change. As you get into lower gears (numerically higher), the pinion gets smaller and smaller. Because the difference in pinion size between 3.55s and 4.10 is so drastic, the teeth couldnt mesh with the ring gear properly because they are too far away from each other. The different carrier will have the ring gear flange already closer to the center. but if you dont have one, then you will have to get a thick gear, which is physically thicker, to move it close enough to the pinion to have a proper mesh.

The carrier is the peice that you see when you pull the diff cover. It is what the Ring gear, spiders and side gears all mount to.

im not sure about that. but its not too complicated, if you have a 3.73 and down carrier (which you do) just find a set of "thick" 4.10s. there isnt really anything else you need, im assuming your going to take it to a shop to get done, correct? just call themand tell them you want 4.10s and they will sort it out. if you really want to do the shopping yourself, just worry about the gearset, the shop will get things like crush sleeves and shims.
