You do realize that all this talk about what this line does or where that line goes is secondary to the fact that ... if you have a leaking vacuum line then you have a vacuum leak. Can't be conducive to a good running motor.

Find and fix all the leaks you can. I've known guys that got rolls of vacuum hose and just relined thier entire truck.
