Coolant Flush
#32
LOL, i was just trying to make sense of the last couple of posts regarding a block heater, which were tacked onto this old thread about a coolant flush, and then realized this is an old post by NEON, who renamed himself to 05Dodge... before he finally got banned. a good laugh here.
HAHA, old NEON - good for 10 pages of BS for the simplest job, and then in the end he'd take it to a shop.

Let the engine cool off completely. Overnight would be good. Make sure all your hose clamps are tight, and the cooling system is full. With the system sealed, start the engine. Grab ahold of the upper radiator hose, give it a squeeze, is it hard as a rock already? That's a cracked head, or blown headgasket. If it stays soft until the engine actually starts warming up, let the engine come up to temp, and see if there are any leaks. Take it from there.
