Default Stiff Riding Ram

Hello all, i am new to this forum just to let you know.
I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 sport 4x4 reg cab short box, the truck has a 2.5 inch leveling kit from Hell Bent Steel and 3 inch blocks in the rear leaf springs, the shocks are Skyjacker shocks for dodge ram 1500's 94-99 with 2-3 inches of lift i am running 285/75/16 tires (Hercules Tera Trac A/T) my problem is how stiff the ride is the truck feels every bump in the road and tends to shimmy (sometimes really bad) and gets worse over bigger bumps or potholes i dont know if it is the levelling kit or the off road shocks?
I am considering removing the leveling kit and replacing the shocks back to stock... will the 285s rub with no lift in the front?
Has anyone else ever had this problem?

Front end parts i have reaplaced-tie rod, tie rod ends, trackbar , steering stabilizer, sway bar link pins.
Thanks: Will

i have a 2in level kit with stock shocks and the blocks in the rear are stock. mine doesn't ride to rough it could be youe shocks that are stiff i would try to find some softer shocks before i spent the time and agrovation of taking the level kit out, not that its a bad job but it could be worth it to find some softer shocks allot cheaper than tires! good luck also you could try if you wanted... take out the level kit and Top Gun Customz sells 3in. sky jacker "soft ride" coils they are pretty reasonable

Can I have your truck? I *LOVE* a firm ride. The factory ride blows ... mooshy, mooshy, mooshy.

Oh ... and it's your shocks.

dont try to drop the front end down and leave that 3 inch lift on the back otherwise you will end up with one goofy lookin truck...

Sorry, I thought we drove trucks from the 1990's. They were not made to ride like a damn Caddy!! Throw a couple hundred pounds of **** in the bed and call it a day.

Do you have aftermarket blocks on top of the stock blocks? That would be your problem. Don't use spacers. Also, Skyjacker shocks blow.

NO NO NO NO NO!

It's not the shocks causing this, its the leveling kit. I installed mine just over a month ago, and that is exactly what happens. The leveling kit MASSIVELY increases your spring rate.

All you can do is deal with it really.

well, viper, the 2wd and the 4wd spacers will feel different from each other. i dont think its the spacers, my ride didnt change a bit when i did mine. Are you compairing your ride now, to the way it was before? or are you just saying its stiff in general? the shimmy sounds like a track bar issue.
