What grade fuel to use?
Hello all,
I did a search and
read through the first 5 pages of "what mileage are you getting" but didnt see any with the V10 Magnum?
I just brought home a 2001 SLT Laramie 2500 4x4 with the V10 magnum and auto trans. Short bed and I dont know what the cab is called it has little back doors and a bench seat in back. I am curious as to what mileage I should be able to expect?
Also what grade gas to use does it matter.
No mods that I am aware of.

You'll find that most people have an opinion on this. I just put the cheapest crap I can find in it and, if it runs fine, keep using it. If it doesn't ping, you do NOT need higher octane. Octane is a NEED thing ... not a WANT thing. Using Super when you don't need it is throwing money away.
edit: Oh ... and it's called a "Quad Cab".
From what I've read here, you'll probably see numbers similar to the 5.9L V8.

I should have just looked up the compression on my motor I guess. I just put the "cheap" stuff in it and it seem to be doing fine. Maybe when the weather gets hot or if I'm pulling a heavy load I may put the 92 in it if it starts pinging.
I have seen everywhere from 8 to 21 mpg on this forum. Guess I'll find out sooner or later.

89 is the worst you can use IMO.
It sits in the tanks the longest, and collects water via condensation or straight up leaks in the tanks.
IMO the best place to go is one that does a lot of business and has high turnover of product. Top tier gas is nice too.
