Default Dang Truck

So i got a five inch lift put on and when i tested it a few days ago everything seemed good, 4wd work and everything seemed great.

Well last night me and aome people were driving around so i tried to put it in 4wd but the light didnt come on but i was not sure if it engaged or not well i drove forward and well ended up stuck in some stupid 2 inch snow when i ended up hitting the ice underneath. I didnt do anything to crazy but needed to get pulled out and all. Now when i drive it it feels like something is wrong in the tranny.

I will start out from a dead stop and i will start going, when i hit about 20mph or so it will start to jump around like it is sliping or something when trying to shift. if i put it in 1 and start going it seems fine and same when i put in 2 it seems to only do it when im in D

Any ideas on what it could be???

I have gone through 2 trannys before but nethier of them seemed to do this so im just wondering

Did you put on a body lift or suspension lift?

5 inch suspension lift

Stuff like this happens to me all the time.

My last truck i put $800 into some accessories and 2 weeks later 1st tranny goes. then a year and a half or so later i put 700 into sound system and stuff and bang 2nd tranny, after warranty was up.

Now this truck i put $1000 into some exterior parts and bang the next week im needing a new battery alternator and spark plugs.

Now 1500 into lift and steering stuff and now feels like tranny might be going @$%&!!!!!!

Well, the lift is why Neon's tranny went out, makes sense to me.

weird. I know that the 4x4 light wont come on unless the vacuum actuator slides over to engage the dogteeth in the front axle. maybe your vacuum line came off? I can't explain the slipping.

Just wondering, but are you Drive Shaft's angle's to much, they could have binded und load and messed something up. FWIU that is the reason they have transfer case drop kits, for bigger lifts like that. The are usually just what looks like a 2" piece of pipe that bolts to the mounting bolt of the tranfer case and lower it so the DS angle's wont be to harsh.

4wheelparts.com should have them, any lift over 4 inches should have one. Whoever told you that was wrong. But, the damage may have already been done, the kit should not be more than $30 or so, if that. Also, did you get a dropped Pitman arm, also a lift of 4" or more should require one.

http://www.roughcountry.com/dodge_4wd_94-01_5.html

this is the kit i got. The kit is a bolt on kit and i asked many people on here and they said it was a strait forward install and needed nothing to get it to drive.

I also didnt know about the driveshaft needing to be lenghtened some said yes on some models. Mine did not need it for this lift yet

It did not come with drop pitman arms but i was planning on getting some, the lift is not fully finished. This was just the start for now but when my tax return comes back i want to fix whats wrong with the trans and or transfer case then get more lift and 40inch tires probably just get 4 inch add a leaf with 2 inch coil spacers for the front and 3 inch body lift. I have 35s right now and ther kinda small, if 40s look small ill go bigger but ill find that out later
