Hmmm, well thanks for the info. I better get that checked out soon. I know how these trannys are, and one thing leads to another leads to another... It will be much cheaper to get it fixed sooner. Thanks!

I still, however, get those light "step down" type of feeling every now and then. The one's that feel like farts. Out of curiosity I checked out the Reservoir and the grommets in between the Master Cylinder and the Reservoir were damp. So I took a small inspection mirror and I saw a leak that was developing. It was like a tear drop that was about to form, but it wasn't big enough to trickle down. I'll be changing the MC pretty soon. The farting, I think, is "blow by" at the Master Cylinder, hence, the farting of the break pedal and the leak. I hope you have the same problem as mine so that this will work for you. I'll keep you posted.
I got those same grommet leaks on my 99 1500 van. I'm hoping just to replace the grommets with new ones i bought. Can I do this or will I need to replace the whole cylinder? Thanks

well, obviously you can physically do it but I'm just gonna replace the whole MC since it has 150K miles on it. Those grommets are a REAL son of a gun to pry off. Then you have to worry about "did I crack or break anything?" I'll skip on THAT headache. Your call though. Either way, good luck

Default ABS and Brake light on/2001 Ram 2500 V10 4WD 4 W ABS

This problem started when I was parked on pretty good grade with a toy trailer attached, so I set the parking/emergency brake on for help. Went and checked around the truck got back in Started truck and release parking/emergency brake, the brake light stays on and now I have an ABS light to. The brakes work fine, the speedometer works fine, no other issues.I am not sure the ABS system is working. (That was the first time I ever used the parking/emergency brake)

I have checked the fuses, all of them all good, replaced the ABS sensor in the rear differential, I read one forum that changing the ignition switch fixed the problem. Have not done that yet. I read take the negative terminal off with the Key in the on position wait 30 seconds then depress brake pedal for 30 seconds to clear the memory, but that did nothing, now I just read another one it said to take off the Positive terminal and then just press the brake and hold for 30 seconds, I do not think that will make a difference but will try that now, did not do anything.
Will look into and ignition switch.

Check the e-brake switch on the pedal assembly, it may be the pedal is not returning completely, or, the switch is just bad. That will annoy the ABS system. If that ain't it, take it to somewhere that will read abs codes for ya.

I think it is hidden... Could try just pulling the release, and trying to pull up on the pedal, see if that makes any difference.
