Yeah MaroonMonster, I grew up on a farm. A stoplight in the middle of nowhere called Okarche, OK. And thats hauling hay the easy way! I started bucking square bales when they weighed more than I did! If any of you want to really work, try holding down a 60hr a week mechanic job and haul hay all night. We would haul 600-800 a night depending. Yeah, we use those round bale trailers every now and then if we gotta haul 3 or 4 a long ways. But most of the time its easier just to pick them up with a pickup. Dont have to have a tractor to load them, almost as fast if you got a DewEze, you dont get stuck near as much, and them trailers turn into a piece of sh** once they wear out.

J415, I get what you are saying. But then again, he's a kid. He aint got nothing to spend his money on. How much money do teenagers these days spend on Xbox games and other stuff? Personally when I was his age, I already was working as a full time mechanic to pay bills. Its hell to have to take a loan, to buy a motorcycle, so you can get back and forth to work, just so you can spend most of your money paying off your loan at 14yrs old. Yeah, its a hobby but when he finally turns 16 he can take that $1000 hobby and go to work for a quick lube or shop instead of McDonald's. Now that $1000 just turned into an investment in experience and education. Then again, Purpl could just be like most of the other teenagers and be lazy and just keep spending all of his time on his truck and have nothing to show for it.

My motor feels stronger now than when it was new and my transmission shifts just as I like it ... I've not had to mess with the TV cable. I'm trying to make the point (zman made it better) that the factory adjustment is a STARTING point. I don't care if Dodge says that you should have it shift at point "X". We mod trucks to make them the way WE want them.

Yes, I've bumped the limiter a few times ... happens when I've got my foot on the floor, climbing a grade ... if there wasn't one ... THEN I might worry. It's doing it's job ... keeping the bottom end together.

I'm really not trying to be a dick.
Its got nothing to do with what Dodge says the shift point should be. Research the engine.
If someone hasn't gone to hardened push rods and a cam that compliments pushing the
motor over 5,000 rpms than an over rev is the result. No extra power, in fact the power
band falls right off. I think a stock 5.9 peaks horsepower around 4,000 rpms. Do what
you want man thats what modding is all about, I just thought I would give you some
friendly info Like I said before; I think we will have to agree to disagree

THANK YOU!!! I was never tryin' to Knock Purpl down or anything. just had to put my 2 cents. Yeah, I remember when I was his age, I was working 8 hour days on weekends with my dad gardening. plus I had 2 paper routes. not to mention all those annoying odd jobs. That was barely enough to get me out of the hand me down clothes and into new threads. but that STILL doesn't hold a candle to all your hours you racked up. To each there own right?
