yeah dude, the ninja was my first bike. BIG mistake,at first . That was hard to control, almst every turn i almost set the bike down.

I've got a 04 R1 and I will admit once it gets in the upper rpm range the front wheel does want to come up. Not a starters bike for sure but it is fast no ifs ands or buts.

A R6 is still a lot of bike for someone starting out. They are not slow by any means.

Only thing I hate about mine is that its heavy as hell. If I ever drop it I'm screwed.
