Thanks for the compliments! I had really hoped to be able to adapt the 3rd Gen seat tracks, but they are radically different in design. I have a friend who would be interested in helping me modify them, but we were looking at sometime in '10 before we could get together to work on it.
The next option was to find a raggedy set of seats or just the tracks for 2nd Gen buckets. When I pulled the original bench I was disappointed to find no harness under the floor mat even though the mat was molded to accept buckets. That was going to mean wiring diagrams and harness fabrication. Again, a long term project.
So I settled on adapting the manual sliding bench bracket to accept the newer seats. A lot of trial and error test fitting and modifying. That means the adjustment buttons are inoperative at this point, but I have the same setup I originally had - just with much nicer seats. Used about $60 of materials from Home Depot and with a Sawzall, drill, rotary file and about 10 hours of labor it is what you see. I wasn't quite sure how they would blend with the interior, but it actually looks good.
It would be nice to come across some cheap tracks and redo it with the electrical functional, but as my friend said it IS a base model 6 cyl... we'll see - I love my truck.
