i got it shiny by just taking a little wire wheel for the dremel and going over the whole thing then hand polishing the area where i cut it. This is so easy to do if you have a dremel with a bunch of cut off disks and a sanding wheel attachment for the dremel. I suggest the ones that are considering doing it to just do it. Im 17 and got it done in under 2 hours and it looks great.
My best friend has this cutting like tool that's shaped like a big Q-Tip; it's a $50 tool, anyway i started on mine with this and it was like cutting soft butter with a hot knife; however the process started slowing down, he then gave me a can of penetrating oil spray and you spray a little on as you are grinding and man you are done in no time. took me 35 minutes to do mine.

sounds to me like a die grinder.
Anybody try to use one with a carbide bit to do a TB?
That's all we have, would it take too much material too easily? I already figure i'll sharpy where the butterflys sit closed at then take them out to bore the TB and such.

that's exactly it man. a carbide bit and a die grinder. i used that with some penetrating oil and it did great job. i mean i was done in 30 minutes and yes it looked just like the pic that's in this post except i didn't polish it.
how do you guys post multiple pics on these posts? when i try it tells me i used all of the space then when i delete the storage so i can post another it deletes it off of the previous post.

did you need the penetrating oil? i don't think we have any.
I have an idea on what i want to do with the TB, but IDK what will help/hurt.

Yes you do if you use that carbide bit. I'm telling you go to the autoparts store and get a can of it and you'll be done in no time. If you have a friend to help out then every minute or 2 have them spray a little on the bit as you are shaving down the edges and what how fast it goes. Make DAMN sure you have protective goggles on because you do not want those shavings in your eyes.
