Yes excellent explanation, the design requires almost triple the psi in reverse. One mopar tranny rebuilder actually told me that if you want to minimize any problems with the reverse clutch seals then park the truck at night in such a way so that you need to put it in drive to leave first thing in the morning (primarily when its cold, sub freezing). That way you are not asking the seals in the reverse clutch to hold back almost 300 psi when they are 20 below.
hey thanks for the info. i appreciate it. yea i hope its nothing like a crack hose or seal or soemthing...the mecahnic at the dealer had told me that it was low on transmission fluid and that is why it made that noise...but it still maks that noise in reverse. i think he was just b.s.ing.... im supposed to take the truck back to teh dealer monday to have them look at it AGAIN for the 5th time....
But my truck is an 01, that tsb only goes to 99' rams. if i take that to the dealer that is what they would say to me because they are rippoffs. but ill try....you dont happen to see any for a 01 ram?
Lucas? I think you mean the Stop Leak or whatever?
The only transmission fluids that should ever be used in our transmissions are Amsoil or ATF+4. Anything else will 99% of the time cause problems and fry our transmissions. They are very picky like that.
