Has anyone tried these clear rear end covers??
you would prolly be able to see them just fine, id be sweet, even with factory stuff like mine, if you had someone else start the truck while you looked at them before they got covered in oil, just to see your rockers working
Has anyone found how strong they are or what it is made out of? Lexsand is strong but i dont know if i would trust it offroad? I have a solid cover on my jeep and it has a nice dent from a rock in calico. I dont know if i would trust these on my jeep but since my dodge is my tow rig i would put them on it.
55 gallons? man i hate changing 2 pints of that crap i couldn't imagine 55 gallons. i did find an easy way to change it though, at lowes you can get something called a drill pump, i believe it was by the pool pumps. its 7 bucks and you need a couple reducers because its made for a garden hose because i don't think a garden hose would fit in the plug hole and i don't think having that big of a hose would get all the fluid out. i choked mine down to a 3/8ths hose and put it in the plug hole, held the pump and kicked on the drill and out came all the diff fluid into the drip pan with no mess. when it was empty i moved it around the bottom of the diff for a minute to see if i missed any and then put new fluid in without having to drop the cover. and i'm sure if there was any debris it would have gone through the hose or at least stopped it up, so if you don't have any noise from the diff i say use the pump, unless you like your hands smelling like gear oil for a couple days.
Come to think of it, I should change the fluid both front and rear, since I have been towing. Or I really just want to switch my fluids over to Amsoil
.
Does anyboy the interval that the gear fluid should be changed at?

Every 30,000 miles, but most people never change it the entire life of the vehicle. By the smell I'm guessing the first time mine was changed was when I did it around 100,000 miles. But everything was in great shape so who knows?
