have a beer you need one.
did you fill it back up with oil yet, and its still noisey ? add a pint of STP.

why is your truck using oil ? plenum ?

does the OD shudder ease off at high speed?
if so, just run with OD off.
if it shudders at higher rpm too, then you got a problem.
i don't know, we need montec back... where'd he go anyway. i guess he got tired of answering endless trasnsmission questions. haha

Check your tranny fluid. Mine will have a tick like that when it starts getting low on fluid.

Every time you get gas check your fluids under the hood. Just have to make it a habit

It depends on the miles and how you treat the truck. Lifter's do have some issues with time. I agree with the STP. that will let u know if ya got other problems. Change the tranny fluid on the truck and see what happens with the OD. Doubt the ticks are coming from the tranny though.

The ticking...cant help sorry. But what is going on with the trans? Ive got a 95 5.9 and when i would reach crusing speed, the truck would down shift and the truck would shake like hell until i gassed it or let off the pedal, then it would come back. I drove around like that for months (trans still works, thank God) thinking it was a torque converter. My buddies dad whos a mechanic for Ford checked under my hood and noticed that I had a melted spark plug wire. We replaced that wire and no more shaking!!! i couldnt believe it. trucks been running fine for about 2 months now. maybe check out the wires

Well I was driving on the highway towing with OD off doing about 4300rpm and I had the oil level a bit below add mark .... I cant believe that it put this tick into my engine One guy I know John with a dodge said it was a collapsed valve for sure, I really don't know, but I changed my oil/filter and added a liter of Lucas oil additive ,, I think my engine sputtering making the crazy vibration was a bad plug One of my plugs was really messed up so i replaced all my plugs with Champion's. instead of ****ty Bosch!!!!!!!!!! but my truck still Idles funny My buddy John told me to take my valve cover off and pour oil on my valve's it might unstick the collapsed valve.. anyone know this trick ???? or is he just talking lol Thanks

My engine has a rhythmic tick as it idles. It's the fuel injectors-- it became more noticeable when I ripped off the disintegrating under hood insulation. Where does it sound like it's coming from?
