How do you know the push rod are the right ones for the motor? By decking the block and/ or changing the thickness of the head gasket will effect the length of the push rod as well the eddy heads could too. I wouldn't get to crazy with the push rods yet, you might be taking them back lol
update for my build: Those push rods that i ordered a month ago that are probably the wrong length... havent shown up yet, the speed shop keeps blowing me off. I have lost my patience. I need to do a bit of homework so i can get this right the first time.
What pisses me off, is that i am 30 days behind now...
Well We know how yr turn out, One gets hit one has issues, Ram is missing a motor.
That has nothing to do with a big truck beating a Mustang. A worked diesel or a sc'd or turboed high performance truck would have a chance. I doubt a run of the mill 408 would though. Its more cubes but the weight of a truck would kill it.
dropped off the heads tonight. put the cam in,lifters and oil pump. put the timing chain on but it had too much slack so it goes back and I will have to wait untill wednesday for a new one.
Well here is a photo of when we were putting in the new gears with the trac-lock carrier. And while waiting for the timing chain I started to wire wheel the frame and remove any rust from the body seams. Then I scrubbed the entire underside with a scochbright pad and then cleaned rised everything off. I will use the preprime coating that is pictured several post above. Then some ruberised undercoating.
well tonight I was able to pre-prime everything. From the firewall all the way to the back of the cab inbetween the frame rails. I did the inside and bottom of the frame. I wanted to get this area now so that when the motor and tranny go back in I wont be stuck. It will take a couple of days for this to dry enough to put the ruberised undercoating and paint on.
