Yeah, since I have been using WIX filters I can get them off eaiser. I just changed the oil in the S-10 and my aunt's lawn tractor a couple of weeks ago. Both had NAPA Gold filters and they came off with much ease! The WIX/Napa has a great gasket design. Makes it eaiser to cut the filter open because there are no indentations from the oil filter wrench. I cut them open to check the filter media and to take the cans and backplates for scrap. That way by 2030 I'll have $100!
I just hope that the Motorcraft FL-400S I put on the Briggs and the AC Delco I put on the S-10 are this easy to take off! Then I can figure out and start buying oil filters in bulk.

Wink

Not sure if anyone has said this in the 12 pages, but check to make sure that the oil filter gasket didnt stick to the block!! Made that mistake before. Put in all the oil and started my truck up and oil was gushing out from the oil filter spot. It was double gasketed because the old one never came off. Wont make that mistake twice

Yeah, but my point is that I'm doing a high-quality oil change with good synthetic oil and a good, high-quality oil filter. Plus you never know what your dealer is putting in your truck.

I dont trust anyone doing my oil accept for a select few of friends, i'v been charged for oil filters more than once from more than one place, and they never changed them. $12.99 at one place, $11.00 at another, doesnt sound like alot but thats a couple packs of cig's i missed out on and i was pissed when i found out about it, i marked my oil filters in a spot they wouldnt see unless they changed it, took it back to the shop and was told to basicly "f-ck off"

From my experience, your gonna get whoever is selling the cheapest bulk oil at the time. When i worked in the shop yrs ago we had "76" 10w30 Bulk oil in the tank. We put that in everything , regardless what the vehicle specified, unfortunetly. I had no choice at the time.

My uncle still has the big *** orange sign in his garage cause he worked there when he was in highschool
