Default Superchips 3815 question

Hi all,
I bought a Superchips 3815 flashpaq for my '99 4x4 5.9. My CEL came on a few days ago and when I tried to read the code using the programmer it said "no codes exist" I can clear the CEL using the programmer (it came on again a few minutes later), but it just won't tell me what the code is. Anyone have a similar problem? I emailed Superchips a couple days ago regarding this problem but they haven't responded yet. Now it's a holiday weekend so I won't hear from them until after Monday. Any help?

Did you do the ignition key job to see what the code was?

Surprised, I was able to pull the code on a 02 sensor I have that's been acting up that hasn't been on for a few weeks with my 3815.

Not that I know of, what in the world is an "ignition key job"?

lol..sorry, not great terminology.

Turn the ignition key off and on 3 times. Not to the start position, but just to the on. The third time it will flash the codes in the odometer.

Yeah hopefully. Might just need a plug wire reroute since I haven't done the TSB yet. My only worry is the previous owner ran the truck for who knows how long with a clogged cat, which led to excessive heat in the #8 cylinder and a burnt spark plug (the electrode was gone). I might be looking at damage that was caused by excessive heat in the #8 cylinder. I'll find out tomorrow I guess.

Well good luck, still surprised the tuner didn't pick up the code. Wonder what Superchips will respond with.

Never really planned on using mine for codes anyway since it's easier to just use the ignition switch.

Or put key in hold down that little black thing that goes between the trip and over all miles. hold that down and turn the key to the 2nd click but don't start them truck.

The programmer did tell me what the code was, but only after I flipped the ignition on and off a 3 times. I didn't get anything to show up on the odometer. What am I doing wrong?
