Default Fog Light sizes for 1997 Ram?

I have a 1997 Ram Sport and need to replace the factory fog lights. They measure 3 7/8" diameter. I see most after market direct replacements say they are not for the sport model or just say they are for a 1997 model. I've seen some listed as being 3" in diameter but most don't list a diameter. Does anyone know if Dodge has different size fog lamps for the Sport and other models for 1997 or are they all the same size?

I believe Sport fog lights are larger.

I would stick with stock sized. I purchased a glass/steel set of fog lamps that are 4" in size, I think (see how they fit in my sig pic), and they look stock, IMO.

YOu could, but it is so much eaiser to get a relay, 12 gauge wire, and a waterproof fuse holder and build your own harness.

Back on topic: If you want to upgrade your foglights to a better setup, use some 99-01 NON-Sport foglights like the ones I have. BTW 94-98 trucks have the same lights, Sport or SLT.

Yeah, I see Mopar shows a single part number for all models 94-98, and direct fit after markets for Mopars part number show 3" dia and some 3 7/8". Maybe the sport bumper opening is a different size, because my 3 7/8" lights have a little bit of room around them and a 3" would look to small in the opening. Do the 99 non sports have the clear lens where you can see the bulb?

I wired in a separate switch for my fogs.

However, you can use a standard 30A automotive relay and have them come on when your normal headlamps come on, if ya like. (Like Purpl stated.)

No, I wired mine into a seperate switch. I just used a relay to take the load off of the switch, like you did with your headlights. It also made the foglights a lot brighter.

So your fogs are completely independant of your headlights?
Also did your fog lights fit into the round area provided or did you have to cut it out to fit them?
