this is probably a dumb question, but what is that sherrif and what the poin of putting that little filter on

Because the motor needs to breath! All it does is replace the tube that goes to the original intake filter.

Yes.... There are other ways of connecting the tube back to 14x3 , but it's not worth the hassle.

If you don't let your engine breath, you'll get sludge build up and kill it over time. It's a slow silent killer, kinda like smoking.

at autozone you can get a pack of like 3 or so for around $5 and see which one you need
