Why? Increasing airflow into the engine can only be beneficial across the rpm range. It is changes to the exhaust that can affect how an engine makes power and where.
I was reading another thread and it said that if you have a CAI you get good low end but when you get into high RPMS the 14x3 is better and it also said the 14x3 is not as good on low as the CAI but was better on the top end. But I dont know never used a 14x3 filter
It's not that one or the other is better for the low end. It's that one is better for the high end.

go with spending $200-400 on a CAI.
