I bought the Spectre tube from AutoZone and two mounting brackets (some gray plastic circles... the tube fits on them perfect) from Autozone as well. Cut a hole in my stock box, bolted the plastic mount to the hole, and bolted the other plastic mount to my frame next to my radiator. Connected the hose, and bam, direct cold air.

Anybody with a CAI in a 5.2 or 5.9 magnum motor with the stock intake "kegger" manifold is going to see no benefits other than increased airflow. And the 14x3 beats out the CAI in airflow therefore it is superior.

You can talk all you want about cold air being denser and creating more power and what not, but I want all you engineering geniuses to run outside, pop the hood of your truck, take a look at your stock intake manifold and come back here. First person to tell me why a CAI has no benefits from "cold air" on these motors gets a gold star

 

exactly, the air heats up by the time i gets to the combustion process anyway. the intake manifold heats the air up as it is...so there is no point in a CAI. 14x3 ftw.
