Default Transmission acting funny

Alright so lately my tranny is starting to have erratic shifting. 1998 5.2 automatic. All of my shifts seem to be delayed. Sometimes with light throttle, it wont shift from 1st to 2nd until upper 2k RPM. Today on the way home from Taco Bell, It wouldnt shift up at all and I was driving at like 27MPH at around 3000RPM in first gear. I'd let off and try again and still no shift. Finally after coming to a complete stop and accelerating again, it shifted up at around 2500RPM and cruised fine from then on out.

Besides that, when I actually try to accelerate, usually in 2nd, it acts like Im flooring it and will redline, without me flooring it, and wont shift up until i let off.

The transmission fluid is at the appropriate level and I checked it according to the dealer manual. The one thing I've noticed wrong is the linkage from the throttle body to the tranny has a strand starting to come up and previously, the wiring harness that goes to the transmission had been damaged at a spot, but was repaired.

What do you guys think?

Is this a common problem that we should all know about?

I don't remember the cost exactly, but it was something I had to get from the dealership. You'll have to drop the pan to change it, but it's not to difficult. Believe they have a diy on here somewhere about it.

Yea I just called Oreillys and they told me they didnt stock it. Then I searched their website and found a part number, but they didnt have a price, so I called them again. Now they're telling me they have to call their manufacturer to find out anything else.
