Default How to install a fuel pump cut off switch?

I was thinking of installing a fuel pump cut off switch? Any tips? What color wire is the wire I would need to tap into? Have any of you all done this?

Mine actually came from the factory with one. It's got this little chip in it (looks like a keychain) If you pull it out, no fuel. I can take a picture of the wires going to it if that'll be helpful. As far as intalling... electricity isn't really my thing.

My 99 stang had a thing that plugged into the obd2 port. If that wasn't in place the car wouldn't start. Was a cool idea not sure if you can buy them for everything though

Why not just pull the fuel pump relay when you park it?
I assume that you are either having problems at night, or you are fixing to leave it parked for an extended period of time. Granted, if a thief is smart enough pulling the relay wont stop them, but neither will a fuel pump shut off switch.

Well, I had it broken into and a bunch of stereo stuff taken from it. It has me paranoid. The neighbors also had their SUV stolen. This was a week or two ago. Then I saw today on the news how there was a rash of vehicle thefts over the weekend. This has me super paranoid. I'm thinking when they took my stereo stuff and didn't take the truck it may have been because if they fired it up in the middle of the night it's soo loud it would wake all the neighbors up. I'm not sure if this is why they didn't take it or if it was another reason but I want to install some stuff to make it harder to take in the future.

My think with a fuel pump cut off switch is I can hide it in a random location to make it harder for them to find. Although if they really want to take it bad enough I'm sure they will find a way but I'm hoping to make it as hard as possible.

I just didn't expect all these thefts in a neighbor hood like ours. If I lived in an apartment I wouldn't be too surprised. I really hate this town lol.
