2nd gen member with ankle surgery!!!
Miami is right, The chemo is not to fix the ankle (there is no way to make sure all the tumor has been removed without doing permanent damage and rendering my foot useless), it is an attempt to kill the microscopic cells that might have left the ankle and traveled elsewhere, which are not seen in ct scans or any other scans for that matter. And the removal of the foot is to remove any possibility that it can eventually spread. Lets put it this way. Chemo alone I have a 30 percent chance, chemo and ankle removal I have a little better than 70 percent chance.
I almost forgot to say, that the reason it feels good now, is not only because the doc did a good job in case it was not cancer, but also because the intense pressure the tumor was causing is gone.

Do you know how many people I see missing lims at work? A crap load of them. It looks very painful to see them trying to adjust to there new lim. VERY. I have saw them crying in pain.
It was a fricking joke you *****. Z got that, and that's all that matters.
You should know that I am the last person you want to start **** with.

Well that's a tid bit of info I didn't need to hear just yet. However I do have an above average tolerance for pain. Plus, before they removed the tumor, the pain was so bad at times I wanted to cut it off myself with my miter saw.
I'm guessing they are being extremely conservative. First, you kill the cancer, then you remove the foot to prevent it from coming back. Similar to breast removal. I've ridden with this guy (I made his pic into a motivational poster I send to anyone that questions my passion for riding) and he can smoke me any day:

I guess losing a foot isn't so bad so long as it doesn't stop you from doing what you love.

well, there is a small chance i will be up for shoulder surgery, i fell down the stairs early last month, and if you read my previous posts in this thread, you know i already screwed up my right shoulder...
...i caught myself with my right shoulder, it made some real cool popping noises, but hurt like hell, now if i move it, it still hurts, and if im not careful, say when i go swimming, or at work, it can pop out, and i can pop it back in, but will be sidelined for awhile, which sucks
